Віра і горе обнялись *** 1940-1950 роки Совєтського режиму
У самотності лагера північого Сибіру, довго по смерті і без тіла покійного чи будь-кого з родини, дружина похороняє свого мужа. Ночами при полярному світлі вона супроводить його на місце “квітучому, спокійному…. без болю [i] печалі”, виливаючи свою віру образом людинолюбного Спасителя. Її засоби – полотно і нитки наявного одягу, риб’яча кістка за голку.
Родичі покійних переслали образ-пам’ятник родині в Чікаґо при парафії сс. Володимира і Ольги у 1987 році. З міркувань безпеки тих, хто проживає в СРСР, родина бажала не оприлюднювати їхні імена.
На передодні 1000 ліття Хрещення Русі-України Патріярхальне Товариство США зложила оригінал Папі св. Іванові Павлові ІІ як свідчення віри Підпільної Церкви в СРСР.

Faith and grief embraced *** 1940-1950 years of the Soviet regime
In the solitude of a labor camp in northern Siberia, long after death and without the body of the deceased or anyone from the family, the wife buries her husband. In polar light of Siberia, she will accompany him to a place “of verdure… tranquility… without pain [and] sorrow””, pouring out her faith in the image of the everloving of humankind Savior. Her means – cloth and threads from available clothes, a herringbone for a needle.
Relatives of the deceased in 1987 sent the image-monument to the family in Chicago, parishioners of SS. Volodymyr and Olha. For security reasons of those residing in the USSR, the family wished not to publish their names.
On the eve of the Millennium of the Baptism of Rus’-Ukraine, the Patriarchal Society of the USA presented the original to Pope St. John Paul II as a testimony of the faith of the Underground Church in the USSR.
